1. How often should I get a pap smear?
If in your past you have had "normal" pap smear results, an annual pap smear should be adequate. If your results were "abnormal", you will need to consult your physician.

2. Do I need a referral to see an OB/GYN?
Not in the state of Illinois.

3. How often should I have a mammogram?
If there is a family history of breast cancer, it is recommended that you have a baseline completed at age 35. Otherwise mammograms should be done yearly once you have turned age 40.

4. How soon should I see the Obstetrician if I know I'm pregnant?
You should call your Obstetrician's office and set up an appointment as soon as you suspect that you are pregnant.
