The Family Birthplace offers large private birthing rooms with a wide range of birthing options. Every birth is backed by SwedishAmerican's newborn intensive care unit to care for premature or critically ill newborns.

Support services for new families include a wide array of classes ranging from pre-natal education, breastfeeding, car seat safety, Mom's club and Boot Camp for New Dads.

Women's Service’s at Rockford Health System is a comprehensive program offering care to women at all stages of life. With a focus on preventive health care, our primary care physicians – including internal medicine and family practice physicians – are available in 12 locations throughout northern Illinois. For specialized obstetrical or gynecological care, our obstetricians, gynecologists and nurse practitioners are specially trained to provide care from screening exams to obstetrics and restoration of health in a woman experiencing illness. Rockford Health System Women's Services are available throughout northern Illinois:

• Obstetrical services in five locations,
• Labor and delivery services at Rockford Memorial Hospital
  and Harvard Memorial Hospital,
• Perinatology (high-risk pregnancy) services available through the Regional Perinatal Center at Rockford Memorial Hospital and regionally, including a transport service for high-risk mothers and their newborns,
• Genetic testing and counseling center at Rockford Memorial Hospital,
• Neonatology services available through the Regional Perinatal Center at Rockford Memorial Hospital, and
• Mammography services available in two Rockford locations.

Women's Health Advantage is the women's education program of Rockford Health System. It includes a variety of services and state-of-the-art mammography, accredited by he American College of Radiology and the FDA. Women's Health Advantage also offers:

• The Breast Treatment Center, a multidisciplinary consultation for women who have a breast problem or diagnosed breast cancer and need information about treatment options,
• Breast Cancer Risk Evaluation Program, a medical assessment of risk for women with a family history or risk factors for breast cancer,
• Nutritional consultation and classes,
• A range of support groups, including groups concerned with menopause, breast cancer, infertility and grief,
• Women's Health Dialogues, regularly scheduled programs on topics of interest to women,
• Menopause evaluation and education program,
• Telephone consultation and referral, and
• An extensive lending library covering issues related to women's health.

In addition to these services, Rockford Health System offers bone density testing and osteoporosis risk assessment at Rockford Clinic on North Rockton Avenue.
